Short answer: If you are asking “why my business is not showing on Google Maps”, first work out which problem you have. If your business doesn’t appear even when you search its exact name and city, it is usually a visibility problem: verification, a suspension or a duplicate profile. If it appears for its name but not for searches like “dentist near me”, it is a ranking problem: category, location settings, missing details and reviews. The 9 checks below cover both.

Why my business is not showing on Google Maps: test it properly first
Before changing anything, test the right way:
- Search your exact business name plus your city in an incognito/private window, on Google Search and in the Google Maps app.
- Ask someone near your shop to search your main service, for example “bakery near me”. Google Maps results depend heavily on where the searcher is, so a search from your home 10 km away is not a fair test.
- Note what you see: nothing at all, a listing with the wrong details, or a listing that only shows for your name.
Checks 1–3: your business is missing completely
1. Verification is still pending
An unverified profile may not show publicly. Open your Business Profile (search your business name while signed in, or open Google Maps and go to your businesses) and look for a “Verify” or “Get verified” prompt. Finish verification by the method Google offers you, such as video, phone or email.
2. The profile is suspended or “not publicly visible”
If your profile shows a suspension notice or says it isn’t visible to the public, Google has restricted it, often because of a guideline issue such as a keyword-stuffed name or an address that doesn’t match the business. Fix the cause first, then request reinstatement through Google’s official form. Don’t create a new profile instead.
3. Duplicate profiles
Two listings for the same business can split visibility or get one of them hidden. Search your name, phone number and address on Maps. If you find an old or duplicate listing, claim it or use “Suggest an edit” → “Close or remove” → “Duplicate of another place”.
Checks 4–6: you show for your name, but not for searches
4. The primary category
Your primary category is one of the strongest signals for which searches you appear in. “Dental clinic” and “Dentist” are not the same. Choose the category that matches what customers search, then add accurate secondary categories.
5. Pin location and service area
Check that the map pin sits on your actual entrance, not the middle of the road or the building next door. If you visit customers (plumbers, pest control, home tutors), set a service area. If customers also visit you, keep the address visible.
6. Missing fields
Hours, phone, website, services, description and photos all help Google understand and show your business. A half-filled profile gives Google less to go on. Adding your services in detail also helps: see our guide to adding services to your Google Business Profile.
Checks 7–9: trust and consistency
7. Reviews compared with nearby businesses
Google lists “prominence” as a ranking factor, and the number and quality of your reviews are part of it. Compare your rating and review count with the businesses that show above you, and make asking for reviews a habit.
8. NAP mismatches
NAP means name, address, phone. If Justdial, Sulekha, IndiaMART, your website and your Google profile all show slightly different details, Google gets mixed signals. Make them match exactly, including the old phone number you no longer use.
9. Edits stuck in “Pending”
Recent changes to your name, category or address can sit under review for days. While they are pending, the old details may still show. Check the profile for a “pending” or “under review” note before making more changes, because repeated edits can trigger further review.

FAQ
Why is my business not showing up on Google Maps after verification?
Verification lets the profile go live, but it doesn’t guarantee you appear for every search. Search your exact name and city first. If you appear, the issue is ranking: work on category, pin, missing fields and reviews. If you don’t appear, check for duplicates, a suspension notice or edits still pending.
Why does my pin not show on the map?
Usually the address hasn’t been placed precisely, the profile is set as a service-area business with the address hidden, or a pin edit is still under review. Open the profile, check the address and drag the pin to your entrance.
How long after verification does a business appear on Google Maps?
It varies. Some profiles show within a day, others take longer, especially after recent edits. If it has been more than a couple of weeks, look for suspension or duplicate issues.
Google Maps par business kyun nahi dikh raha?
Pehle apna exact business name aur city search karke dekhiye. Agar bilkul nahi dikh raha, to verification, suspension ya duplicate profile check kijiye. Agar naam se dikh raha hai par “near me” search mein nahi, to category, pin location, missing details aur reviews par kaam kijiye. Free GBP Checker se missing fields turant dikh jaayenge.
