What the GBP checker looks at
The free Google Business Profile checker reads your public listing the way a customer sees it on Google Maps. It looks at whether your primary and secondary categories are set, how many photos you have, your rating and number of reviews, whether your opening hours, website, phone number and address are filled in, and how you compare with 2 to 3 real businesses near you in the same category. Every point in the score comes from a fact we can measure in public Google data; nothing is guessed.
How to fix a low Google Business Profile score
Start with the top fixes list in your results. In most cases the quickest wins are adding the right secondary categories, filling in missing hours, adding your website and phone number, and uploading recent photos of your premises, team and work. Reviews take longer: ask every customer for an honest review and reply to each one, good or bad. Avoid keyword stuffing in your business name, which can get a profile suspended.
GMB optimization checklist for Mumbai businesses
- Business name exactly as on your signboard, with no extra keywords.
- Correct primary category, plus 2 to 4 relevant secondary categories.
- Full address with landmark and pin code, matching your website and directory listings.
- Opening hours, including holiday hours for Diwali and other festivals.
- A local phone number or WhatsApp-enabled mobile number that you answer.
- Website link, services or products with short descriptions, and a 750-character business description.
- At least 10 recent photos, plus new photos every month.
- A steady flow of honest reviews, each with a reply.

The most common reasons are missing secondary categories, few recent photos, a low number of reviews compared with nearby competitors, or missing hours or website. Your top fixes list shows which ones apply to you.
Does a higher score mean more calls?
Not guaranteed. A complete, accurate profile is a solid base, but Google decides who appears in results and customers decide who to call. We never promise rankings or leads.
